About

Social Technologist for Regenerative and Intersectional Tourism. My aim is to empower regenerative practices in tourism by integrating anthropological insights and cutting-edge technology. Associate Professor (tenured) at the Department of Business Economics (URJC) and Visiting Associate Professor at Edinburgh Napier University. I am the funder and caring community builder of the Regenerative and Inclusive Tourism LAB (RIT-LAB), fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in tourism education and research. I have a dual PhD in Tourism (Spain) and Geography (France), and hold multiple postgraduate degrees in sustainable tourism, cultural project management, and anthropology. In addition to my academic roles, I contribute to advancing knowledge in tourism as an Associate Editor for Tourism Management Perspectives, the European Journal of Tourism Research, and the Journal of Sustainability and Resilience. These editorial positions allow me to shape and support innovative research that addresses critical issues in sustainability, regenerative tourism, and social inclusion. In this respect, I was honored with the prestigious Emerald Literati Award 2024 for my co-authored work on Generation Z and sustainable consumption in food tourism, highlighting my commitment to advancing impactful research in the field. Keywords Regeneration; Intersectionality; Social Sustainability; Social Technology; Social Justice; Events; Food tourism Research I believe that technology is not an isolated element or a tool that only facilitates processes, but that it is part of the environment and that technology should be analysed from the perspective of technology itself, with its human connection and the way it creates, manages and promotes relationships between human beings and between human beings and technology to promote social sustainability and social justice. For this reason, I study the concept of Industry 5.0 and use methodologies such as text mining and machine learning, but without forgetting the importance of qualitative analysis through virtual ethnography and content analysis. My methodological approach also focuses on the ethical principles of my research approach: the struggle for sustainability and social justice to achieve equality and equity.
